Without the right persons forming a dynamic, reactive and human sized team, all that work would not bear any fruits. That's why Hélène and Fréderic knew how to be well surrounded.
Hélène Kopp & Frédéric Soual
Hélène did a technical degree in viticulture and enology before joining her father on the estate in 1996. She observed what was made at the time and proposed amelioration axes in the cellar, she learned patience. She's soon joined by her husband Frédéric head of the vineyard for Chateau Palmer at the time. Together they are making their own the estate, the vineyard, the varieties, feeding themselves on the story of each vine and of the men and women who once took care of them. Altogether they quickly see the potential of this estate, and work everyday to take the Chateau du Retout's wine onto the highest step of quality.

For him to, this is a family story, he grew up on the estate and start working in 2007 for the Chateau du Retout as technician and became vineyard manager at his predecessor's retirement in 2022. Guardian of the vineyard, he is looking after every single vines as if they were understanding each other.

Brigitte joined us in 2007. It's with precision and care that every vine will pass through her time-experienced hands several time a year.

In the vineyard, in the cellar
Kid of the country, he decides to change work fields in 2024. We welcomed him for his apprenticeship, true right hand he is on all fronts.
Loïse Soual Kopp
Hélène and Frédéric's daughter, she joined them in 2026 with an viticultural an enology engineering degree and professional experiences in Bordeaux, Tuscany and Napa. She's the one who will write a new page for the Chateau du Retout.
